Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition's list of achievements apparently appeared online ahead of its release, and one includes a nod to a popular GTA: San Andreas meme. Although the three classic titles in the collection have been relaunched on modern consoles with trophies and achievements before, it appears that Rockstar Games may have created a new roster for each remastered GTA trilogy for the 2021 collection.
After nearly a year of speculation and rumors, Rockstar announced the GTA remastering trilogy in early October. The collection will include remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas and will be released before the end of 2021 (for most platforms) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GTA 3. The trilogy consists of three of the most Acclaimed games of the PS2 era, all of which helped cement Rockstar Games as a key player in the games industry. Although there are rumors about how substantial the changes will be made to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, the collection seems to include new achievements at the very least. A list circulating online claims that each game includes more than 40 achievements, for a total of 135. Many of these include fun nods to the series, Rockstars history, and pop culture in general. Some illustrations of achievements from the GTA trilogy have also been leaked, but the GTA Forums User Mapper posted the actual descriptions of each achievement. The "... Here We Go Again" achievement appears to be a nod to the iconic San Andreas meme of the same name, and requires players to start a new San Andreas save after 100% completion. There's even a reference to The Warriors, which Rockstar adapted into a video game in 2005. For the GTA 3 "Come Out To Play-y-y-y" achievement, players must kill 25 gang members with fists or melee weapons.

Needless to say, this list should keep curious people busy for quite some time. All three games are relatively long, even by today's standards, so getting all the achievements from the entire collection could be a chore. It's unclear if Rockstar has added new content, but the base games are already packed with things to do. Rockstar has announced some enhancements to the GTA trilogy, including gameplay and graphical updates, but the studio has yet to fully reveal how the games will look or play.
It has been reported that GTA: Trilogy will use the Unreal Engine instead of Rockstars' internal RAGE engine and that the remasters are heavily modified versions of the original releases. With GTA 3's 20th anniversary set for October 22, a full preview of the full release is likely soon. There is no solid release date for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, but rumors suggest that it will be released in November.
