The Cowboys are playing an unusually high number of Thursdaygames in 2021. They are playing on a Thursday for the third time in Week 13, but incredibly, it's just the third time that they will play on "Thursday Night Football."The first Thursday night game of the season for the Cowboys came in Week 1. That was a matchup between them and the Buccaneers that technically was a "Sunday Night Football" game because NBC broadcast it. Last week, the Cowboys played their usual Thanksgiving Day game. That was broadcast on CBS and took place during the afternoon.Now, they'refinallyplaying on both a Thursday and during "Thursday Night Football." They are playing another team that played on Thanksgiving the Saints in a clash between two teams that are coming off tough lo ses.Both teams also could be shorthanded this week. The Cowboys are going to be without coach Mike McCarthy following a positive COVID test. The Saints are dealing with numerous injuries and may be switching up their quarterbacks.
