With the impending release of Shin Megami Tensei 5 next month, excitement has been high for the game. The developers have provided a lot of information about the game over the past few months, through a series of news reports. Some of this revolves around Shin Megami Tensei 5's factions to the classic demon bargaining and fusion mechanics in SMT5. With only a few weeks to go before launch, Atlus revealed some of the bonuses that will be available for fans to try once they go live, including a long list of DLC available to purchase, along with a few New Game Plus modes.

Some of this DLC will be free and available for download upon release. This includes the "Safety" difficulty, the easiest mode for new players, announced in a previous news report covering the Shin Megami Tensei 5 demon fighting organization, Bethel. The other free DLC at launch will be Japanese voices for dialogue and battle grunts, for fans who prefer Japanese dubbing over English dubbing. Regarding paid DLC, some of the DLC will serve to make Shin Megami Tensei 5 easier in a number of ways. This includes 3 separate DLCs that will make certain rare demons known as Mitamas appear at a higher rate, which can help the player collect more resources faster. Then there is a separate DLC that will make other demons available for fusion, by completing a side quest. These three will grant the player the ability to fuse for the demons Artemis, Cleopatra, and Mephisto, each with a unique ability and redesign.

However, the most important and impressive content available is the "Return of the True Demon" DLC. This will open up a side quest for players to face off and recruit the nine legendary demons, who are powerful demons in their own right. It doesn't stop there, as by beating them, the player has an additional boss fight with the strongest of all, the Demi-Fiend from Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne. Considering that the Demi-Fiends are tough as boss nails in Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, fans should expect an equally difficult boss fight in this DLC. There will also be two New Game Plus modes available, where players can start a new match after finishing the game.

These two modes affect the attributes that will be transferred to a new run. There is the "Newborn" who will transfer the Demon Compendium and analysis data from the enemy, and the difficulty will not be affected as much. The other is "Reborn", which carries over everything from the previous run to make it easier. All DLC is available for purchase separately, or players can choose to purchase everything and the base game in a special Shin Megami Tensei 5 Digital Deluxe Edition.
